50th Reunion

by Jim Z on 09/11/14

Last minute detail plans are being completed. Invitations have been mailed. They should be arriving shortly. Let us know if you haven't received yours...after 50 years a few people are hard to locate. Be sure to check with others you are in contact with to be sure they were located.  Questions and comments can be posted here too!

We will be gathering Saturday at PNC Field's Mohegan Sun Club

Friday night informal meet and greet and optionally dine and drink at Doc's

Passings

by Jim Z on 11/17/12

TMHS-64 has recently lost a few classmates... Buddy, Lois, Peter. Funny how we can all still remember them in their youth and for those we knew as they matured...and in either case realize what great people they were, each in their own, unique ways.  We were fortunate to have shared moments in time with each of them, as well as so many others.  This should serve as a reminder to acknowledge others while you can do so.

It seems like only yesterday...

Blogs Away...

by Jim Z on 02/09/12

I got a request from the last get together (October 2011 at St. George's Center, Taylor www.StGeorge'sTaylor.com ) to add a blog to the Class web site. So I did (well it's a few months late but, heck, I did do it anyway ;-) ) . So here it is....

Not knowing what form it will take, and having a mundane life, myself, I will seek out some folks to start if off with a bang. In fact, I will contact a few of our class's more eloquent writers to take a shot at something of real interest.

I (once again mundanely...) continue to do a little running, shorter and slower every year but still out there a few times a week...no more marathons though. I also do a lot of computer stuff...too much  (rooms full of equipment...and I even get paid occasionally), and enjoy sports watching ...where my fav teams include: the NY Football Giants (Super Bowl Winners this year)  and  NY Yankees baseball (I don't watch them much these days); Penn State football (a very rough year in Happy Valley...not just for the footbal team), UConn women's basketball (a fabulous program I have followed for many years since I lived out there), and a few others.

Since I returned to NEPA, I've also enjoyed watching my niece Annie's exploits. She had a great career at Scranton Prep (in basketball and especially softball) and later set many softball statistical records at daU (University of Scranton http://athletics.scranton.edu/sports/sball/Archives/Index) where she led the nation in Division 3 softball batting average, a great achievement (as seen by  a very proud Godfather) . Since Annie graduated last year I have followed some of  the local high school scene especially recently my friend Joe S.'s (from Moosic...) daughter Kayleigh who is a very good basketball player at Dunmore High.

We don't travel as much as we once did, but occasionally visit New England (up to Maine where cousins Darryl Darryl and Katya reside ... check them out at  www.DoctorZee.com  he does a great Christmas light show), the Jersey shore (Seaside Park and Avalon www.avalon-beachcomber.com ) , and Florida (mostly near Tampa).

OK, I will stop now. I know this is pretty dull stuff compared to the adventures of our more illustreous classmates. I just wanted to kick off something and see if anyone bites. JJZ
